Gifts are
given to every believer by the Holy Spirit to help empower
us to accomplish his will here on earth. We all have giftings
whether we realize it or not. Unfortunately, many people tend
to think that if they are not a Benny Hinn or Joyce Meyer
that they cannot possibly have anything to offer. Not so!
Giftings come in many various shapes and sizes. Not everyone
is called to speak at conventions or on television. These
just happen to be the high profile ministries. You may instead
be called to encourage or maybe to intercession, which is
every bit as important as the others. The point is that regardless
of your gifting, you are a vital part of the body of Christ
and are needed in order for the body to function as a whole.
Imagine
if your entire church operated solely in the gift of teaching. While you would
have a knowledgeable church it would not be well rounded. Consider the gift
of teaching as a body part, maybe an eye or an ear. While an important piece
of the body it is by no means complete within itself. You also need a head,
a neck, a torso, arms and legs. Lets not forget hands, fingers, feet and toes.
Every part is vital to the body functioning as it was intended. The same goes
for the church. God has equipped us ALL with various giftings and we need to
function in that gift to help form our part of the (church) body.
It's
when we all come together in one accord operating in our calling that we will
experience God like never before.
